C/A 004 Concealed Roof Anchor
The Safetor roof anchor C/A 004 Concealed Anchor meets the requirements of the AS/NZS 1891.2:2001 Standards: Horizontal Lifeline and Rail Systems, and AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 Standards: Industrial Fall Arrest Systems and Devices.
Design
The C/A 004 Concealed Roof Anchor is designed to be bolted to timber structures but may just as easily be bolted to steel as required.
- Fits all types of smooth surfaced roofs – pan or crest fixed.
- Can be turned upside down to give more options of fixing to structure below roof.
- Removable eyebolt allows the roof anchor to be concealed while not in use.
- Provides a clean roof line where protruding Anchors would detract from visual appearances.
- This anchor can be used for fall-arrest and total restraint.
- Manufactured from Mild Steel.
The location of the anchor within the roof is distinguishable by the cap washer used to seal the eyebolt hole against weather ingress. The cap washer would be invisible from ground level but easily seen from on the roof. It would be out of line from the other roof screws. Tek Screw and Profile Washer not included with anchor as there are so many roofing profiles. (Available from roofing manufacturer.)
Certifications
The C/A 004 anchor has been fully tested to the AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 Standards by Material & Testing Laboratories.

Ultimate Strength
- 1 Person – Free Fall Arrest – 15kN
- 1 Person – Limited Free Fall-Arrest 12kN
- 2 Person – Total Restraint
NB
1. Anchorage strength applicable when using restraint technique, is either 15kN or 12kN depending on whether the ultimate fall is free-fall or limited free-fall.
2.’Ultimate Strength’ means that the anchorage may yield at the stated load but must not fail.
Bolts
Bolts used to attach the anchors are M16mm construction bolts. The number of bolts used to attach the anchor to the structure can be 2 to 4 sets of bolts. All the timber testing to date on 4 x 2 framing has been using 2 x sets of bolts
NB:
The only time we recommend the use of 4 bolts is when the anchors are attached to C-Section light gauge steel purlins.
Coatings
Because this anchor is not exposed to the harsh environments, its undercoat with Zincshield (which is a zinc rich epoxy powdercoat) is sufficient.
Installation
The installation should only to be carried out by a competent person as set out in the AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 Standards. Collins Corporation Ltd. provide a warranty on product performance of the anchor and not the structure. It is the responsibility of the installer, building designer, or building owner to ensure that the structure to which the anchor is attached will support a load of at least 15kN as set out in the AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 Standards. If there is any doubt about the structure’s adequacy, a structural engineer should be consulted.
